January 26th, 2018

Last evening some of my rentals that were deep did well with the ‘Walleye, and a couple that i thought would be good did  not do so well.  Overall from reports is was pretty goood fishing.  some shallow in close houses did good overnite too.  Today the action slowed thru the daylight hours. At the dusk the winds switched NW and the temps started dropping so we’ll see what happens overnight.

The warm weather softened up the snow drifts we received Monday-Tuesday from the strong east wind we had while the cities and farther south received their snow.   Some fishermen were surprised at the drifts, wondering where they came from. you never know what will happen out there with the wind.

Looking forward to a good weekend on the ice, and don’t forget to sign-up for the  Lybacks/TWP Tournament!  We are almost half way there with contestants.  And if you want a ticket you will need to stop in and pay for one. Or get the money in the mail ASAP –  as no tickets will be saved for anyone till the money arrives. You will need name, address, and phone number and a check for $50.00 per person if you are sending it.  We will call you as soon as we get the check and issue a ticket. The last two years some people called to save some and then never showed so we were shorted.  That is not happening again.

The weather looks like it is going to be pretty nice to be on the lake this weekend.  The warm-up Friday and Saturday should help the bite, and with the cool down on Sunday the barometer should be moving.

We have a couple deluxe houses available for the weekend due to last minute cancellations,  So if you still want to make it up here give us a call. We moved houses to deeper areas and gravel so we are anticipating some good reports this weekend also.

The TWP Tournament is scheduled for Feb 24th. We are at approximately 1/3 to 1/2 full with entries.  Call the office for information and to sign up.

January 23rd, 2018

We were very fortunate that the snow that the twin cities received didn’t get this far north.  All we got was some NE winds and some drifting in spots.  The main roads stayed clear.

A few fishermen were out last nite some did very well, some not but overall it was pretty good for the Walleye bite.  Today more fishermen showed up so we will see how the bite is tonite. We are going to be moving another group of houses that didn’t do as well last weekend to new spots based on reports. And re-banking houses with new fresh snow  and getting ready for the weekend.

Don’t forget to sign up for the TWP Tournament on February 24th. $50.00 per person – 150 contestants, 100% plus entry fee in prizes. Everyone will get something… 8:00 am to 2:00 pm fishing hours. Eligible fishing area is within the areas Lybacks Ice Fishing maintains ice roads.
