We have ice out as far as you can see as of Saturday morning.  I walked out about 100 yards and checked depth, it was only 2 inches. The NW wind was blowing so we have rough ice for the first 1/4 to 1/2 mile out and then more “dish plate” rough ice after that.  But we will be able to make some good roads once we have the ice to do it.

Friday we got the road approach dug out as the strong winds piled slush ice up 3-4 ft deep and out into the lake about 50 feet. But it turned out nice and is freezing down well. Overnight Saturday and this morning we have received a couple inches of snow and I’m hoping the rest will  stay away for the rest of this week.  We NEED cold weather now.

If all works out we are planning to get things going by the end of this week as far as portable/and maybe ATV-Snowmobile access. But we will have to see how much ice we have later this week.

I will be updating the report everyday now so you know what is going on.   Here we go!!

Keep a Tight Line!!
