Yesterday we had to anglers out on snowmobile.  They left by early afternoon.  They had some action, but no keepers.

Over night we received another couple inches of snow, and after checking the ice father out yesterday we will not head out farther than we have marked prior to last weekend.  The is just too much inconsistency with ice depth.  There is a lot of “double layered” areas where flooding has occurred and do not have enough ice to safely support a snowmobile.  With the snow on top is is slow going with the freezing, even with the cold temps.

We have staked trails to Gull Reef, Pope’s Point, and SW of Spider Island. At the end of them we have “Thin Ice” signs to indicate not to go farther. Today we will be packing all of them with snowmobile so the cold will get thru the ice faster. Eventually we will establish roads there.  Until that happens it will be snowmobile, ATV’s with tracks, or foot traffic going out of our access, and just to the areas we have trails to.  I do not want ATV’s with chains as they will not work well out there with the conditions we have currently.

We have plenty of parking for rigs and wheelhouse camping if you choose in our lot by the driveway. We will have it cleared off and ready for the weekend. and will also have the permanent storage lot open for those that want to stay in their house.

We will have to hurry up and wait…
