This morning I went out for the first walk on the ice. (Found out I’m definitely going to need new ice cleats, the old ones are pretty worn.)   For about 1/4 mile the ice varied from 4″ to almost 6″ in some spots and it is extremely clear and smooth.  If it keeps freezing a little each night we will most likely be opening the access for walking this coming weekend to limited areas that we have checked over the next couple days.

Until we check more I won’t be able to say how far out we will be going, but I’m hoping to get to Popes, Gull Reef and south of Spider. We’ll see what we find over the next couple days and keep updating this report.

The 10 day forecast looks like it’s going to stay warmer than we would like it for ice making.  By Christmas Eve temps are going to drop and it looks like lows are forecasted to single digit lows and stay that way for awhile.  So I’m thinking as far as pulling houses it will be Christmas week or later.  Lets hope for cold!

Keep a Tight LIne!   Be Safe!
