Today I went west, south of Spider Island, checked ice and staked the road which will eventually end up on the south end of the Tundra and turn north. Also rechecked areas we measured yesterday and found that there was not much ice made overnight. Ice Depths remained almost the same as yesterday. 5″ to 7″, some places little more, some places a little less. The warmer temps caused the ice to move and form a few small ridges here and there as it was expanding. And they were not freezing up too well.
We will remain walking only for this weekend, bring your ice cleats. As the weather cools down later this week I would expect ATV’s etc. for Christmas weekend. maybe pulling some small houses with the Jeep and graduate up from there.
Keep a Tight Line! Be Safe!
