Today was our first day letting customers out on the ice thru our access. It was walking only and we will do the same tomorrow. We had about 25 groups show up today, early reports by noon were slow. Some had activity right away before sunrise, but then they were just marking them. Got a few pictures of “keepers” from customers so there is some activity.
I think that with the super clear ice and extreme water clarity that there is so much light penetration that they either move deeper for a time or just lay low until dusk. Quite a few fishermen came after lunch for that very purpose, the evening bite. As I write this at 5:00 pm most fishermen are out there and haven’t left yet. Some have but I’ll I think most will stay until 6-7pm for the bite.
This week is looking like things will turn colder by Wednesday. Along with some strong NW winds. I’m planning on checking ice and staking roads so when the temps and weather allows we can get going.
Keep a Tight Line! Be Safe!
