Yesterday by 9:00 am the NW wind picked up and blew pretty steady until late afternoon.  We received a little snow overnight and before the wind some freezing drizzle. It was just enough to keep the snow down, and might make it alot easier to move around out on the smooth ice.

We did not have any fishermen out because of the wind so no fishing to report about.  One customer went out at dusk to Pope’s, but I did not hear how he did. Later in the afternoon we went out and checked ice depths to see how much it had changed since Friday and found most of the areas we had been were around 7-8 inches most places, so there was a little improvement. Today if the SE wind stays down for awhile we are going to check ice and stake to the Graveyard, Ray’s and East Spider if it goes well.  My goal is to have some more areas checked so ATV’s and portables can get out Saturday.

I got the ATV/wheelhouse parking lot scraped off yesterday. So there will be plenty of room for parking and staying over for those that want to.  The Red House will be the office again this year, (I was hoping to get the new office with bathrooms and showers going this year in the restored barn but with the Covid stuff it was not in the cards), so everyone will need to stop in and register and/or pay access. We are practicing safe distance and Covid precautions so bring a mask for entering the office.  There are signs up along the walk.

Keep a Tight Line!  Be Safe!
