December 27th, 2017

Today I pulled some of the smaller lighter private houses, banked up more rentals and got ready for the renters the next couple days.  And I made the road to the Tundra with the Land Cruiser. It about 1/2 as wide as I want, but ran out of daylight. You could tell the ice under the deeper snow was not very thick as when I got more of it uncovered you could watch it bend as I plowed.  So the cold weather coming will help that.

The bite was “fair” overnight despite a low of -24 degrees and a super high barometer.  And today I received 6 texts of Walleye pics  from 24″ to 27″ of C/R.  Most in 14-18 feet in close.  So you never know…

Until I see more ice depth I am sticking to the plan I explained last evening in the report.  Small crossovers, small cars, minivans, etc.  NO 1/2 ton rated or larger trucks.  Wheelhouses can pulled by your ATV or Side by Side.  I will continue pulling smaller private houses after tomorrows snow that is predicted. And be pulling more rentals as they are rented.  Rental customers will NEED to have a smaller vehicle, (listed above), if not and we will shuttle them and their equipment to and from the rental, BUT they will need an ATV/snowmobile out there in case of an emergency.

Thanks you everyone for your patience as this year again has been a “different” one.  What started out looking good early turned for the worse when the ice blew back in as it was freezing the second time.  It gave us alot of inconsistency in ice depth that we normally don’t see. (Especially in the 1 to 2 mile distances out from our access).  And I am still seeing it. That is why I am being cautious and making sure I have good consistent ice depth on the roads, and it is taking a little longer…

Keep a Tight Line!!    Eddy
