Yesterday quite a few anglers showed up with ATV”s , snowmobiles and portables. Every group got a map of where we had checked ice and staked what will be roads to some of the areas we go to. Everyone we asked to give me a text on how their day went at the end of their day, but i only received reports from 6 groups. All in all it was a slow bite. My hunch that the shallower water might be better with the snow cover was. Some anglers had alot more activity in close than those that went deep. It would have been nice to hear from more that were out.
I got the Bombi out and packed the slush in the afternoon so it should be good enough to get across with the Jeep today and start clearing snow in the first stretch of the two roads. There was still only 8″ of ice under that heavier snow areas in close so getting the ice uncovered will help that.
I’m hoping that if the snow stays away I will be able to start pulling some of the smaller houses with the Jeep towards the end of the week. Keep your fingers crossed.
Keep a Tight Line! Eddy
