Monday the fishermen that went out had a little better luck with getting them to bite. We had12 groups out and almost all report seeing/marking Walleye most of the day, but most of the ones that caught were on a set line.   Sometimes a red hook/minnow or small sucker minnow is still the best.

I opened up a road to the SE Graveyard and NW Popes with the Jeep and Land Cruiser and plan on opening some more today.  Ice depths were checked before I went and it ranged from 9″ to 12″ with most of it in the 10″ range.  I’m just not comfortable enough to take a bigger truck out on it.  Not only it is just borderline enough ice, but if your plowing on it, it breaks and snaps even more than if you are in a lighter vehicle.

I will not be letting anyone drive out until I measure 14″ or more on the ice roads, and that includes us pulling big houses.  I will be pulling smaller rentals with the Jeep and some of the smaller privates as i can as I get more roads established. All fishermen going out to the houses, rental or private will need an ATV, side by side or snowmobile to get themselves back and forth.

We will have the parking lot in the field along our driveway available for wheelhouse people that would like to camp and portable this weekend, Privates that want to stay in their house on shore are welcome to.  Small wheelhouses, (wheelhouses 14 feet or under, single axle)  with ATV’s with chains will be able to go out starting Friday if this snow doesn’t screw too much up Tonight and Wednesday.  I will let you know if anything changes via this report.

Keep a Tight Line!
