Today was a good day out there for the fishermen that showed.  One group of three caught 2 Northerns close to 40″ and had one that he could not get up an 8″ hole. ( no Gaff ?)  His comment was it was so big it looked “prehistoric”.  Lots of Perch but most I heard that were kept were in the 9-11 inch range.  Some Walleyes were kept in the slot but most caught were in the 10-13 inch range.

I got the road to the “Graveyard”, “Banana” and the “Bowl” scraped off.  Tomorrow i will be working on the road to Popes.  By far that area is the worst rough ice I’ve have seen (and I’ve been here a long time…)  I’m not sure if it will work out or not.. If I can’t establish a wide enough road in that rough ice that I can maintain for the winter, we aren’t going there. I know there are a few customers counting on it and I will try, but this year it just might not happen……..Besides there are alot more places to fish out of here than there.  🙂

We are letting cars, small SUV’s and 1/2 ton pickups out starting tomorrow on roads and areas we have checked and staked. (up to 1-1/2 miles from our shoreline).  We have rentals out and available.  And we will start pulling some of the smaller “private” customers Monday. (Alot will also depend on where they want to be..if they want to be farther out that we have ready, they will have to wait.)

Keep a Tight Line!
