Monday we had some rentals out and fishing was slow in the shallow water except for Perch. Monday overnight some Walleyes were caught, but I would say it was slow also. Tuesday with the snow that was coming I expected the bite to pick up, but overall it didn’t .  The barometer didn’t drop much at all when it started.  Those out there said the fish were there and most could bring them up off the bottom 3 to 4 feet but they would just look.

Overnight the wind kicked in a little and with about 5 inches of snow we had some drifting, but for the most part the main roads blew clear.  It is nice to see some white again, and most of the snow stuck. Right as it was letting up we got about an 1/8 inch of sleet and it capped it somewhat.  This evening at dark another front came through and it was a genuine whiteout for awhile, but now it it is just windy and cold.

We had seven rentals out today and the bite was very slow. Not much except small Perch and small Walleyes so I don’t know what to expect the next couple days.  We’ll have to wait and see.  Maybe the fish aren’t used to it being so dark now that there is snow cover.  🙂

The Lybacks/TWP Tournament is full.  Everyone will need to check-in at the office before start time at  7:00 am Saturday February 21st and register and sign a waiver or your entry will not be valid.  Registration starts Friday for those coming for the weekend and the office will be open a 5:00 a.m. for those showing up for the day.  At that time you will find out where the weigh-in will be held.  The weigh-in will open at 2:00pm and close at 4:00 sharp!  Most years we try to have it on the ice, but if it is windy we will go back and have it in the big field along the driveway.  Tomorrow I will post prizes so people will know what they are fishing for. And there will be door prizes for everyone.

Keep a Tight Line!        Eddy
