Yesterday the bite was slow with the high barometer, but as the wind switched overnight the few out there had some action.
Today we are supposed to get very strong NW winds 30-50 mph and with what snow is out there is going to be major drifiting of snow. The roads will more than likely be fine, but visibility will be alost zero. If you are coming up to a rental, or with a wheelhouse, or to your permanent, depending on the timing of the wind increase and your arrivial you might not be getting out on the lake this afternoon, If it gets too bad I will be pulling the trucks off the ice and closing the access until the wind drops overnight. Some people don’t seem to remember what a 50 mph wind can do with snow on a lake the size of Mille Lacs. Today they will find out.
Keep a Tight LIne!
