Yesterday I spent time in the office checking out fishermen as they were leaving  Overall, it was pretty good out there for most. Very few didn’t have any luck, and some just weren’t in the right spot.  But that’s why they call it fishing.

It was a weekend for big Walleye.for sure.. I received over 60 pictures of Walleye C/R  over 25″ from various depths, both deep and shallow.  What was noticed was the inconsistency  of where they were caught.  Some shallow spots bombed that had been doing well before the cold snap, but other shallow spots did very well with some overnight catches of 20-30 walleye a house.  Same with the deeper transitions. Although the deeper water had a more consistent day bite.

Snow is coming again this week, (a couple times), so we are going to move alot of our rentals to new spots for fishing, and to get them out of the drifts.  Permanents will need to check their blocking this coming weekend. These coming snows might mean the end of moving around out in the open for wheelhouses on the lake for the season.

After the warmup this weekend the ice pushed in some areas of the lake, but not in areas we go to and I’m thinking now that has happened it will not bother us here for the rest of the year.

Keep a Tight Line!     Eddy
