Yesterday the reports from anglers was that it was pretty quiet. Lots of small Perch in some areas with some decent keepers mixed in. Small Walleyes and a few in the harvest slot were reported.
We moved some more rentals to new spots and are plowing out new wheelhouse spots for the weekend. Traditional over the years we have found in the areas we fish that towards the end of the season the bite gets more consistent early morning and late afternoon in shallower. With water clarity these days it’s a little more difficult because of light, but blocking the windows works. Just like “sight fishing” in the past. It’s also about the time the bug hatches start in the deeper mud areas which will bring the Perch and Tullibee in to those spots. So there is alot of fishing to do yet.
We have spots available yet on the wheelhouse list for the weekend. We have a few basic houses left for the weekend. We will be renting houses up to February 28th this year as the season closes at that day. After that we will be keeping a road out the Tullibee Hole for Perch, and to some of the more popular Northern spots in close.
Keep a Tight LIne! Eddy
