The high barometer really slowed the bite down yesterday. Mostly just small Perch action. with the abundance of food sources this year the Walleye are not biting like they have over the last few winters. Fishermen will have to be more creative on presentation to improve their catch. Those that have are doing better in the “catching dept”. When they don’t need to eat the barometer changes seem to affect the bite in a big way, and this year it really shows. But even with a slower bite fishermen are still coming up and enjoying the experience of it. But with rising fuel costs I’m sure that is going to start to affect who goes and who doesn’t in the future.
We plowed a bunch of new wheelhouse spots on the deeper rock-gravel to mud transition areas to try along with some new shallow spots for those that want to be quiet and “sight fish”. the weather sounds pretty respectable this weekend temperatures, so it should be nice to be out there.
We have a couple rentals available due to “covid” cancellations so call if you would like one. We also have a few “Weekend Wheelhouse” spots left on the list too. All wheelhoues must stay under 10 mph when traveling on the ice roads. To all going out on the ice just a reminder to “Keep it Clean”, bring back what you take out and leave your area you were in spotless when you go home. We all will appreciate it.
Keep a Tight LIne! Eddy
