February 5th, 2014

Overnight some of our shallower houses caught Walleyes. Today the deeper ones were busy with Perch. A couple Muskies were seen in the shallows during the day and those that seen them didn’t see anything else.  Proof that they spook everything again.

I worked on getting the road to the Tundra open and moved a couple houses out there with plans of moving more just to see if things are better for the last three weeks.  I have some good spots there, and it’s not too far despite all the snow. So I’m going to give it a try.

I finished ordering all the prizes for the Lybacks/TWP Tournament today and spent the entire amount of entry fees doing it. Everyone will get a pretty nice prize whether they catch a fish or not. Some of the big prizes will be ice augers, portables, Lowrance and Vexilar products.  There will be sweatshirts, hoodies, hats, tackle and other misc prizes also.  All will be given out by drawing tickets out of the jar, so you will have to be present and have your ticket at the weigh in. Contest hours are from 7:00a.m. to 3:00 pm on Saturday Feb 22nd.  The weigh in site and finish will be decided Friday Feb 21st. (The weather will decide where we have it, and it will be posted in the office where you can pick up a map with it’s location,)  There will be three fish awards.  Biggest, medium,(or the middle of all weighed), and the smallest. They will have to alive to be counted as those not in a harvest slot or protected slot must be released.  I expect to have everyone participating to be honest. And with the way the prizes are structured, and there is no reason not to be.  It should be a lot of fun to see who catches the smallest.  It must be a Walleye, Northern, Perch, Eelpout or Tullibee to qualify.

Keep a Tight Line!!
