Last evening and thru today so far the NW wind is still blowing. We had -15 overnight, at 1:30 pm it’s -7 and tonight it will be close to -25. Winter has finally arrived…
Overnight some of the fishermen that went shallow did well in depths from 12-16ft. The deeper breaks on the mud side of them were a little more consistent. Most rentals were doing pretty good as well. Golden Shiners, (if you could get them), were the best. if I were to average the reports I would say pretty good for this kind of weather.
As the ice gets colder there will be more cracking, last evening those overnight said it was making noise and tonight I’m sure it will as well. Tomorrow as wheelhouse people leave will tell the story of how the roads end up looking. If everyone keeps it slow and easy it should be fine. When it’s this cold stress cracks heal quickly. It’s the big ones you need to worry about.
Keep a Tight Line! Eddy
