This morning is the coldest of the season so far. At our residence on the hill the thermometer read -29 and down by the lake -22. Either way it’s cold.At least the wind speeds have finally dropped. Already we have calls to jump start some vehicles as I write this. Years ago it was a regularity, these days it has to be really cold before we get them.
Fishing this weekend overall was slow for most. Lots of anglers with camera’s were seeing them, but they were not biting. As always, there were a few exceptions and some did pretty good. Some of the better catches were in the mud edge of rocks in deeper water and the other bright spots were in 12-16 feet on the in close reefs.
With the cold we had this weekend some found out that snow drifts get hard with the amount of wind we had. And the importance of parking your wheelhouse and truck was learned the hard way by some. But more will understand as time goes on.
Keep a Tight Line! Eddy
