February 8th and 9th, 2014

Friday evening the NE side of the Graveyard reef had some decent Walleye action.  A 29″ and 25″ Walleyes were reported and some other houses had Walleyes too.   Saturday am  there were numerous reports of big Northerns breaking lines and a couple caught over 40″ in the shallower reefs.  The  “Bowl” had some decent action with one father/son catching 13 Perch between 10″ and 12″ and a 22″ Walleye.   But by the afternoon when making the rounds of the rentals, reports were that things were pretty slow. Over night and most of today as fishermen were leaving they reported slow  fishing.

Over the weekend we had the “Vikings Arctic Blast”, so there was a lot of snowmobiles in the area and on the lake, but most were courteous and stayed clear of fishermen.  Next weekend the  “Mille Lacs Drift Skippers”  annual Vintage snowmobile run in Isle.  So you won’t be seeing me Saturday at the resort.  I missed the last two years because of our tournament and and last year no help to fill in for me. But I am not going to miss this one.  I finally got my Dad’s 1965 Arctic Cat done and I’m going to drive it!  25 miles at 10-15 mph should be quite a trip!

Keep a Tight Line!!
