Yesterday with the high barometer the bite was pretty quiet from most reports I heard.  After the winds we had the day previously it shot up pretty fast and usually it will slow the bite. The most activity was in the late afternoon and dusk hours.  Anglers reported seeing them and marking Walleye, but they would look a the bait and leave.  (Maybe they are getting wise to it..”)  🙂

With the weather stabilizing with 20’s for highs and teens for lows the ice should stay put and hopefully the pressure ridge we are dealing with will stay put and not move for awhile,  Ice depths on the roads are 18″ plus.

Starting tomorrow we will be allowing single and tandem wheel houses with  trucks up to 3/4 ton rated pulling them, No 1 ton rated rigs until I measure 20 inches plus on the roads. !/2 ton rated with single axles will only be allowed over the pressure ridge to the Tundra and Gravel Bars , (which I have roads to now )  all traffic will be required to drive 5-8 mph.

It’s looks like to be a nice 10 days with moderating weather.  It should be good for fishing and good for anglers to get out there and enjoy. We have a couple rentals left for the weekend so if you are interested give the office a call.

Keep a Tight Line!    Eddy
