The bite picked up a little more yesterday. The baro dropped a little and the temps warmed up some.  It is beginning to get back to the pattern we had last week. So I thinking it will be a pretty good fishing weekend both weather and the bite.

Here is what we are going to do here as far as wheelhouses.  We have approximately 18-20 inches of ice on the roads. The newer ones plowed in the last couple days less the older established ones more.    1. It will be single and tandem houses pulled with up to 3/4 ton trucks ONLY.  A 1 ton truck can go if is has a small single axle house, but not a tandem.  2. We have a pressure ridge to deal with to get to the Tundra and Gravel Bars.  1/2 ton rated and single axle houses ONLY will be going across the ramps, or bridge over the pressure ridge. 3. We expect everyone to keep the speeds down to 5-8 mph on the roads. 4. All wheelhouses going out of here must be on the ice before dark. Most of the roads have clear ice which is very brittle and does not bend well  and slowing down will help them not to break up as bad.

Last weekend there was instances reported of fishermen “crowding” others while out there. On this lake there is absolutely no reason for it and I really don’t care what the DNR rule is about it anglers should be able to stay at least 90 to 100 feet away from another.  We will be strongly encouraging fishermen to respect others when they are out there.  There is lots of area to fish. And I’m not going to put up with it out of my place.  Fishing is supposed to be fun and enjoyable and quiet when your out there. and I will expect those using my access to be that way…

Keep a Tight Line!     Eddy
