This coming week temperatures forecast is not looking very good in the ice making department. Temps at or above freezing daytime. Mid twenties on the overnights until we get snow and winds on Thursday/Friday. Then a cool down to more normal temps. It is going to make things interesting out there on the ice roads.
Overall this last weekend I would say fishing was “fair” on the average. As always some get’em, some don’t. But by the reports and pictures I received Sat/Sun alot of anglers had a good time. And with the weather as nice as it was it was hard not to enjoy if your were portabling.
Sadly one thing that seems to happen when there is alot of portables, is the few that think it is ok to leave their garbage on the ice for someone else to pick up. I know the areas where most of it was left and I know the groups that went there. If you can’t take in what you take out you are a slob, not a fisherman. Slobs are not welcome here.
On a good note I posted about a lost tackle tray and hard covered rod case that were lost on the roads yesterday in the report and the fishermen who found them contacted us, the ones that lost them contacted us, and they will get back to the owners soon. It’s good to know there are still people like that.
Today I am going to be focusing on the roads and fishing spots for houses still waiting to go out. I want to give the weather forecasters a day to see what this snow storm and wind is really going to be like before pulling any more. With more info on it by Tuesday I will decide if we are going to hold up or go. I’m going to stay with weight limits of 5000-6000lbs/ vehicle – or wheelhouse with ATV for the next couple days during this warm weather.
Keep a Tight Line!
