Over the weekend fishing was pretty good for most compared to the first few days of last week when the barometer shot up.  The night bite was good on the shallower reefs for most and the deeper water spots seemed to have more activity in the daylight hours. The gravel seemed to be the place to be for most wheel houses and from what reports we heard there were lots of fish C/R and a lot of smaller Walleye caught.  Yesterday as fishermen stopped in on their way off most had good reports.

With the warmer weather It was a very busy weekend with a lot of wheelhouse traffic and a lot of portable fishermen.  Many driving cross country from other roads and fishing in areas we go. It was very evident Sunday when they were leaving. Wheelhouse customers coming out of our access, stop and collect a deposit back so we know they are off, and many just drove thru as they left so it is easy to tell who comes from where.  Being on the main lake we are closer to the Gravel Bars than others so it’s easier.

The ice conditions are pretty good, the ice roads held up well over the weekend due to the moderate temps. It was just warm enough to keep things “tight” and cool enough to freeze things in the evening when the traffic was low. This week we are going to work on getting another crossing to the pressure ridge and get to the Banana Reef, and Tullibee Hole.  The ice in some spots in those spots is only about 12″ so we will be doing a lot of checking and that area might be “off limits” for awhile, but we will see how it goes.

(sorry there was no post yesterday I was out with a cold.)

Keep a Tight Line!   Eddy
