Mille lacs Lake was very fortunate to miss the snow the southern and western part of the State received. The east wind blew like we were going to get a snow but it never happened.  The bite was slow in the am, but as the day progressed I received more pictures and reports of catches.

Most ice depths under the snow is still remaining at 14″inches with some areas now where cracks went and flooded the area and froze closer to 16″.  in closer reefs and areas have 16″ under the snow in rougher ice. The ice roads depth range from 14″ where recently plowed to 18″ on long establishes roads.

We are letting paid seasonal customers with wheelhouse/vehicle combined weights up to 12,000lbs out our access.  Single vehicle weights up to 7500lbs. (Rentals, permanents, portables).   I will increase the combined weight as the roads we just opened build more ice.

Our “Weekend Wheelhouse” list will start Tuesday Jan. 18th for the following weekend and we will open access to daily midweek wheelhouses that fall under the weights we are posting.  We will be plowing spots for wheelhouses to park as off-roading and parking they will more than likely flood the area they are in if snow isn’t cleared.

Keep a Tight Line!      Eddy
