Yesterday seen a few fishermen but a couple reports were of pretty good fishing. One rental had 10 Walleye with one around 26″, the others were from 17″ to 19″.

The weather forecast has backed down the snow amounts for Friday/Saturday which is good. The wind forecast is still the same from 15-25 mph with up to 35 mph gusts so it will be drifting considerable from Friday night thru Saturday night, so travel will be difficult and it will be better to just stay put and stay off the roads until it drops enough to open them up.  The timing of this one just sucks. Except for the fishing, almost everything out there with making ice has.  Now we are finally getting just enough ice to really get going and then this. But we’ll get thru it. Customers need to know we our doing our best to get you going and this year is just a year when we got the short end of the stick with too much snow on early ice and not enough cold weather when we needed it.

We will be calling our rental customers this morning and giving them our options. Today I will reopen and clear off the roads that I didn’t get done yesterday. Yesterday we received about 2-4 inches of snow and I want the roads clear before Friday’s snow.   The crack 1/2 mile out has reopened  to about 18″ with the cold.  We have ramps across it on both roads and packed it, but will not be pulling houses or letting wheelhouses across it until after the storm and I have reopened the roads and see how it has healed. We will be keeping our 9000lb combined weight limit for truck and single axle houses thru the weekend.

Keep a Tight Line!     Eddy
