January 16th,2016

We should be making some ice now.  last night temps dropped to -12 and it sounds like the next 24-36 hrs it is not getting above zero. It is just what we need to get thing the ice stable and thick enough to not have to worry so much about travel on it.  yesterday ice depths increased so we now have an average of 14″-17″.  1/2 pickups and single axle wheelhouses will be allowed out of our access for this weekend.

Fishing yesterday was quiet from most reports I heard. Fishermen that did report said lots of smaller Perch were caught and those with camera said the large Perch were there, but not biting.  On customer C/R many Walleyes from as small a 6″ to as large as 17″.  With the high pressure building in yesterday it was explainable.  Most rentals didn’t show up until late afternoon for the weekend so we will know more today when we go out and check on them.

I encourage private owners that are on our “pull  list” to call the office and let us know their plans for next weekend as soon as possible as we are planning to have most of our areas and roads open to the spots we normally go by then.

The Lyback/TWP Tournament is on for Feb 27th.  Entry fee is $50.00 and you must pay and sign up at office to get on the list.  Limited to 150 contestants and it is a 100% payback Tournament with all entry fees to go to prizes for the contestants.
