Yesterday as we checked the rentals that were out overnight Friday we found that the shallower areas did the best in the overnight with many 17″- 25″  Walleye reported C/R.  During daylight hours when we made the rounds it was mostly Perch action and occasional Walleye. During the afternoon I was receiving pictures of C/R Walleyes in some of the deeper areas.  One permanent customer C/R a 39″  Northern while jigging with 4lb test line for Walleye on the Banana Reef in 20 feet.  It took a half hour to get it in.

The cold temps Friday and Friday night got to the roads and you could see numerous cracks and changes from what traffic we had on it Saturday.  I’m glad we kept things somewhat restricted this weekend.  There just isn’t enough ice to let alot go on it yet in my experiences over the years. Some traffic yes, but not constant travel with large numbers. It can break-up a road and endanger others traveling on it.  With the cold coming this week conditions should be much better out there by next weekend.

Our “Weekend Wheelhouse” reservation list starts Tues. Jan 18th at 7:00 am.  Call to get on it if you want to get away from the crowd. We limit the number of wheelhouses out of our access.

Keep a Tight Line!     Eddy
