After talking to angler’s rentals yesterday afternoon, the bite was better than expected. Numerous houses had C/R Walleye, many pics of nice sized ones were sent to my cell.  Some of the best over night fishing was shallow in 13-18 feet.  Daytime action was better in 28-32. from most reports.We even had rentals with four anglers that caught four in the slot, some kept their “limit”, and most released them and kept one for a meal.  Good to see them having fun.

I finished the roads to and across the Banana Reef and the deep water NW of it yesterday, and with last nights -20 degree temps it should have made ice in the thin ice areas that I plowed over. It has been many years since I’ve seen the lake freeze so unevenly, and unfortunately this area was a late freeze. I’ going to leave it sit until after Tuesday snow we are supposed to get and then open it up and move some rentals out there for the coming weekend.
