January 20th, 2022

Yesterday the cold set in, the barometer went up and the bite was slow for the few out there. But the cold weather came at a good time and will help the ice get a little thicker. By the weekend I’m pretty sure there will be another inch or so on the roads and maybe even some more under the snow.  With the weather warming up and barometer tomorrow and Friday, maybe the timing for the bite will fall on the weekend like it has the last couple.  What little drifting we had yesterday with it turning cold made the new drifts like cement. In some spots you can drive right over them.  And with strong south winds Friday midday, things could get even more difficult out there for awhile.  Wheelhouse owners that do not want a plowed spot will be required to have chains.

Yesterday we plowed wheelhouse spots and will be doing more today along with cleaning up driveways for permanents and rentals that are coming up.   Just a reminder all permanents will need to call today to have there driveways, holes drilled and heat turned on if they want us to and are coming up this weekend.

Weight restrictions will be changed to 14,000 lbs combined vehicle/wheelhouse to most roads. ANYTHING heavier will be restricted to the South Spider Road, and you will be fishing shallower water. NO exceptions!  That means  1tons/tandems, 3/4 diesel/tandems, and trucks with King Castles.  And to all wheelhouse owners, seasonal and on the list, if you don’t drive slow on the ice roads we have worked so hard on.. you will not be coming back thru our access.

Keep a Tight Line!          Eddy
