Yesterday I spent most of the day in the office visiting with anglers as they were leaving and checking in new rental arrivals.  Most leaving had good reports of catches, some better than others, but very few did not do anything. Many nice sized Walleye were C/R. Seen pictures of two 40 plus inch Northern C/R.  And some anglers in “The Bowl” did well on Perch.  Finally we are seeing some decent Perch once and awhile..  So it turned out to be a pretty good weekend despite the cold.

Our roads have held up well as most of our wheelhouse customers kept their speed down below 10 mph. There is always a couple that think they know better, but we strongly advise how we want it done when they check in, and most do.  In fact, alot of our customers come here because we don’t let things run wild out there. With all the wheelhouses these days I hear of too many instances where ice roads break up, reports of nonstop traffic on the ice late into the night, crowding on spots, etc.  I want fishermen to be able to go out and enjoy their time fishing, have their space in a good spot and get back in safely.  Plain and simple.

Sounds like we are going to get some snow the next day or two and then back into the deep freeze with strong gusty NW winds.  But by the weekend it’s looking pretty good with moderating temps and sunny skies.  It will be interesting to see how hard the drifts get after Thursday……

Keep a Tight Line!    Eddy
