January 22nd, 2016

Yesterday the bite improved for some of the anglers.  Walleyes dominated the catch Thursday evening for those out there and during the day Perch were doing pretty good around Spider Island.

The ice started pushing a little as the warmer temps started getting to the ice, but I’m thinking we will not have any big problems with it.  We are still pulling houses out for those that are coming for the weekend and getting the rentals ready.

Driving will remain the same as the past couple days.  Single axle wheelhouses with 1/2 ton truck can go where we have all of our roads.  Tandem axle wheelhouses and bigger rigs will need to stay within the 1st mile of our shoreline where the ice is consistent.  (17″-19″  Cones are set on the roads where they should not go past.  The ice farther out is generally good but it varies so much. 13″-20″ with alot of 14″-16″ ice) I do not want of alot of heavy travel on the roads out there until we have more.  I am going to get a road to the “Bowl” today as it seems that the Perch are better in the shallower basins than in the deeper mud.

The Lyback/TWP Tournament will be Feb 27th.  Entry fee is $50.00/person.  100% payback in prizes.  Sign up and pay entry fee at our office. Currently are about 1/3 of the way on contestants.

Keep a Tight Line !
