Yesterday the fishing reports were mixed by the end of the day with some C/R Walleye reported and Perch action. Today with everyone out there we’ll see who did what. With the weather changes we are having back and forth the next couple day it will be interesting to see what happens.
The strong south wind yesterday did not cause any problems. Late afternoon, early evening we received snow flurries and it was low visibility for awhile put passed quickly. The wind switched to the NW overnight. The main roads and side roads blew clear, but it looks like there will be some drifting to clean-up on driveways to some houses.
After what happened yesterday with a group of three “weekend wheelhouses” I am seriously considering to switch to seasonal wheelhouse customers only. We have had a policy in place here for years that wheelhouses are to stay at least 100 feet away from others and at least 75 feet off the roads to prevent problems. Every wheelhouse customer that arrives gets that info sheet when they arrive. Most customers come here just because they want it quiet and have their “spot.” I space rentals, permanents, and wheelhouse spots accordingly so everyone has their “space” as well as finding good spots for them to fish on.
Not to be misunderstood, if there is a small group of wheelhouses that want to be closer together that’s fine. But DO NOT group together in the middle of an area where others are already fishing and want their space and blatantly ignore the policies we promote. When our office gets calls from others out there in permanents and wheelhouses you obviously have ignored what was on the info sheet. When you ignore our policies and bother others out there it will be your last time out of here. Have the decency to get away from others and have your “group”. It’s too bad a few will wreck it for everyone. Maybe it’s time the groups like “Wheelhouse Warriors” should take this on and start figuring how to get the problem of no respect for others figured out. If not, I will change to seasonal wheelhouse customers only. At least they respect what I’m doing for them.
Keep a Tight LIne! Eddy
