I stayed in the office yesterday and met anglers as they were leaving to hear how they did. Fishing was slow for some, some caught Walleye, which some were in the slot. And a few did well with numbers of Walleye. Overall is was a slower weekend for the bite but with all the back and forth weather changes it was expected.
I received very positive responses from Saturday’s post about crowding of others as customers came in and checked out. At least at this place it’s catching on. I have nothing against a group of a few wheelhouses wanting to be together, but if they are going to have their “group” , stay away from others that want their space. As far as I’m concerned, the MNDNR’s rules of proximity of structures on the ice is old, outdated and out of touch with reality and has been for years. They should wake up, realize it is and change it. And for anglers to use that as their reason to excuse themselves from crowding others should step out of the fog and get some common sense.
This week we will continue the “Weekend Wheelhouse” list and it starts Tuesday at 7:00 am call to get on it if you would like to.
Inspection day is Tuesday for our bathroom/showers and new office in my 100+ year old restored barn my grandparents built when they homesteaded. If all goes well the finishing construction immediately will start. My hopes are to have it open for the last couple weeks of the season so customers can at least see what will be there for them next year.
Keep a Tight LIne! Eddy
