Yesterday was fairly quiet for the few that were out. From what reports I heard the early evening bite and early this morning was the best times. With the full moon phase over the next couple days I would suspect the night bite would be the better choice. Traditionally in the past many try fishing shallower water.
The last couple days the colder weather has been helping the ice conditions on the roads. Under the snow it has helped some, but even yesterday I still found some spots with only 13 inches. But most areas in the open are 14-16″ under the snow. So it’s getting better. Still for this time of year we are well below average.
We are looking forward to a good weekend out on the lake. Today we are opening last weekends wheelhouse spots and making a bunch of new ones for those on our lists to try when they arrive. It sounds like a little snow Saturday thru Sunday so I expect conditions very similar to last weekend which should lead to some pretty good fishing. As always, getting out there before dark and having things quiet improves your chances of a good bite. More and more anglers are finding that out.
Have a safe and fun weekend, and Keep a Tight Line!
