I’m making this report tonight as we close as tomorrow morning I’m going to be making more space for parking in the lot along the driveway for more rigs. We had approximately 75 vehicles with trailers and wheelhouses there today and need to make some more room for parking. I have a 15 acre field to use and might as well use it. This warm weather is bringing portable fishermen out in force.
Today’s reports from fishermen varied from OK to pretty good. Almost all had activity, especially those that stayed under 20 feet. Those that went off the deeper side of the of the reefs a mile to two out were slower, but if the ones that stayed closer to the tops on the edge did OK, but generally the shallower water in closer did better. I received numerous reports of anglers getting some in the slot and one picture of a 26″ plus. A few with some pretty nice Perch. Not many in numbers but some in the 12-13″ range. That is nice to see.
With the weather forecasted the next few days I am going to hold off on pulling any more houses and focus on making more and widening the existing roads so what cold weather we do have at night will put some ice on them for the future. Currently in most areas we go to so far there is approx. 12″ of ice. I am not going to push it. Some areas where there are drifts and rough ice that trapped snow are flooding under the snow. Especially if fishermen drilled and fish in those areas. Eventually it will freeze, but it will be awhile.
So it will remain no vehicles except ATV’s, snowmobiles, side by sides at least thru Tuesday. (Read yesterday’s report for recommendations for portable people and rental info for travel as we do have 10 rentals out and are shuttling gear for them. They will still need a way to get back and forth in case of an emergency).
Keep a Tight Line! Eddy
