Fishing has been good in the late afternoon-overnite hours the last couple days.  Most have been targeting the shallow water areas we plow to,  (see map).  The deeper water/gravel areas are doing pretty good also during the same hours.

Yesterday we received a half an inch of snow with a strong SE wind and today it’s forecasted to switch to the NW and blow the other way and bring some cold weather in for the weekend. So we will be getting a jump on clearing driveways etc. today.  All permanents will be getting checked  and snow moved away from their houses whether they are coming or not for the weekend because of the SE wind yesterday.

We have a few  deluxe rentals still available for the weekend and some of the basics also.  So whether you would want to come for a day or the weekend we have some open.

The TWP/Lybacks Tournament will be held on Feb 24th, 2018.  I is limitied to 150 contestants and is more of a “customer appreciation” tournament for the anglers that frequent Lybacks Ice Fishing throughout the year. Everyone knows everybody and is a family friendly event with no beer wagon etc. People who chose to bring their own.  Entry is $50.00/person, Over $15,000.00  in (retail value) prizes will be distributed among ALL contestants via door prizes after the weigh-in.  Tournament hours are 8:00 to 2:00.  All contestants must register Saturday morning at the TWP trailer in front of Lybacks access. prizes will be awarded for the biggest Walleye, Perch, Northern, and Tullibee.   Walleye category will be catch/measure/picture release. Any Northerns over 30″  will be catch/measure/picture release. Perch and Tullibee will be catch and weigh.  All picture fish will need to be on a smart phone so we can verify at weigh in.  Weigh in will start at 1:00 pm and no fish will be measured or weighed after 2:00 pm sharp!  Weigh-in/ award site will be determined by weather conditions and announced to contestants when they register Saturday morning.
