Yesterday angler’s reports varied from slow and marking alot of fish to OK with some nice C/R release.  Seems the set line with minnow, (rainbow or small sucker) was the best way to go.  I received numerous pictures of some nice C/R Walleye.

The sun finally came out after 4 days of haze and clouds. It was a nice change.  I was able to get across the rough flooded stretch of ice off the south tip of the Banana and established the road to the Tundra.  Everywhere we checked on the Tundra road and found 10-12″ of ice. A few bare spots had a little more but not many.  Today I’m going to be checking ice on the existing roads so we’ll see how much ice we are making there.

The warmer temps over the next couple days will settle the snow some, but I think we are not going to have a major melting event like some years. It sounds like lows in the teens which will keep things going a little. It actually is pretty nice weather to go portable fishing. It will be nice to get some colder weather.  Until we get some more ice we will remain ATV,s /snowmobiles / portables.  I’m planning on letting small cars and mini SUV’s out Wednesday and we will go from there.

Keep a Tight Line!      Eddy
