January 4th, 2022

Yesterday the bite was slow from most reports from Anglers.  Lots of Perch action and small Walleye but not many reports of slot fish.

They are forecasting some snow the next couple days with 1-3 inches expected and winds bring back the cold for the weekend. With all the snow out there if it really blows it could be a problem and we’ll start over again. With our roads the way they are and the work we did around the houses  that are out I’d expect we’ll be ok.  We’ll just have to wait and see.  There is alot of loose snow out there already.  8-12″ of it.

This week we will continue pulling permanents on the list along with rentals that are reserved.  We will allow vehicles weighing under 6000lbs curb weight on the ice.  Single axle wheelhouses (that have paid the seasonal rate) weighing under 5000lbs can go if pulled with a Side by Side with chains or tracks. We are not taking daily or weekend wheelhouses yet.  (Our paid seasonal customers will be going out first.)  Portable fishermen, I recommend a snowmobile. I watched portable guys with ATV’s struggle and most parked just off the road. We have a large parking area for rigs on shore.  We will be checking ice depths daily and as it increases things will change.

Keep a Tight Line!      Eddy
