January 8th, 2020

Yesterday we had about 5 groups of anglers out, but no one reported their catch so I can’t tell you how the bite was.  I can tell you it has been overall good. With the cold front moving in yesterday it could have very well been a little slower.

I got 6 rentals out yesterday with the Land Cruiser.  Alot of the slush areas are freezing up pretty good where I could stay on top of it.  I’m hoping last nights sub zero will improve it even more for today. The next two days will be focusing on getting rentals out and getting them ready for the weekend.  All those renting will need a ATV and trailer, or snowmobile, side by side, or a sub compact SUV to get to the rentals.  We will not be allowing larger vehicles until sometime next week and I will let you know here in the report.

After the weekend we will start pulling privates after we had established better roads farther out and we start making more ice. Portables and ATV/snowmobile traffic will be the rule for over the weekend. No wheelhouses until sometime next week. I will let you know on the report when that happens also.

24 hours of cold doesn’t cure it all…but it helped a little.

Keep a Tight Line!   Eddy
