When they say the fog was so thick you could cut it with a knife…yesterday it was. I haven’t seen ice fog like that in a long while. Most of the time you could not see more than 150 feet and it lasted all day.
The fishermen that reported did pretty well. The best depths was 18-25 feet. Some did well in shallower water also, but not as many. I received quite a few pictures so there were some happy anglers.
My plans are to get on the lake with our bigger trucks Monday and start pulling the larger houses out. Weather forecast calls for above freezing Wednesday and Thursday, then a cool down going into the weekend. Hoping its a gradual cool down so we don’t see cracks show up on the roads. With this years clear brittle ice, temperature changes can really affect it. With alot of traffic it can lead to problems. I expect to see enough ice on the roads to not make it much of an issue.
This weekend we are sticking to a 5000lb limit for vehicles, and wheelhouses with ATV’s. Starting Monday if the roads still look good we will increase it.
Keep a Tight Line! Eddy
