The last few days we received about three inches of snow. Yesterday it got warm enough to where most of it had melted again except for on the ice. We want to get out there with snowmobiles and sleds to pick up what ever was missed when we removed houses, road stakes and signs. In years past we always go out after everything has melted down and is exposed. There is always a 3 to four day window where the ice is still good enough to run on with snowmobiles and it make it very easy to see and remove pretty much everything.
We are completely remodeling the storefront and accessory store at Lyback’s Marine the last week and it will be another week or two before it’s done. All inventory, shelving, (everything was removed). The 20 year old carpet will be replaced with new epoxy flooring. All new painted fixtures, pegboard and displays. And a new parts counter and service desk area too. I wanted it nice so when it passes on to the new owners it will be one less thing for them to worry about.
I’m also making progress on the “Barn/Ice Fishing Office”. The bathrooms are painted and ready for fixtures to be installed and final inspection. I’m putting clear sealer on the ceiling downstairs this weekend. Next week epoxy flooring is going to be installed also. Then we finish the trim and the only thing left downstairs will be the kitchen area. Which I’ll work on over summer.
So they say retirement is easy………
