After the snow yesterday I opened up some of the roads.  This a.m. I opened up some more, and this afternoon I opened up more.  I’m looking for Perch spots deep and shallow and I think where we go on the lake I have most of them covered.  There is quite a bit of snow out there but it is still good going if you watch what you are doing.  Roads are wide enough and I plow the snow one direction so you can get off them pretty easy.

I can’t believe that if Perch populations are low or uncatchable that they won’t gather in some of the spots getting ready for springtime spawn soon.  So we’ll see if that is true over the next couple weeks.  We have a lot of ice and if the temps stay cooler which I’m hoping they will, we will be out there for some time yet.  Access is good and we’ll keep going as long as we can.   Actually tonight was fun out there with no one on the lake, plowing fresh snow after no wind and not worrying about which way to plow into houses and setting things up for getting them off the lake eventually.  If you’ve been on the ice as long as I have it’s sorta nice being out there plowing watching the sunset with no worries.  And tonight was a good one……..
