The fishing opener was a pretty quiet one compared to most.  Very few anglers were out on the south end of the lake. From what reports I heard the majority went to the north end sand.  The “catching” was pretty slow for most and the best reports were after dark.  With the full moon those that stayed out did quite well.  But because of the regs the 10:00 night ban went into effect Monday.  As the water warms up I’m pretty sure the bite will improve as they’re still out there.

Fuel prices are continuing to rise and I’m pretty sure that is going to affect the marine industry along with fishing industry this year.  And right now I don’t even want to speculate what it could do to the Ice fishing businesses this winter.  Along with what it is already doing to farmers now and going into this fall is going to cause everything we buy to live will go thru the roof.  Personally I’m sick of the admin in DC blaming Putin and Covid.  This debacle we are in lies entirely on them.  To shut down the economy and destroy peoples livelihoods so abruptly because of “green” policy is outrageous and uncalled for.  Everything was improving in the past at a rate where the economy and people could adapt, change and survive.   But now it is nothing short of a economic disaster and probably will be for most of us by winter.  Better pay attention to who you vote for this year….

I’m busy helping the crew at the at the Lybacks Marine get customers boats out along with trying to get things “spruced up” around home for my daughter Andrea’s wedding on June 18th. Hoping we will have nice weather that weekend!
