Hi to all that read this. It’s that time of year again. I was reminded by a good friend that  viewers of the website were starting to look on my website for this page to see if I had started yet.  so here it goes…

This year marks the 67th year this place has been in existence as Lyback’s Ice Fishing . Despite all the ups and downs we are still here.  Cindy and I are both hoping it will continue on to another generation.  Along with that will come some changes and we will be making this a better place to go ice fishing.

This summer I got quite a bit further on the barn restoration/remodel for the new Ice Fishing office/bathrooms and showers.  But sorry to say it won’t make our goal of having it up an running for this season. But next year it will be. I just plain ran out of money in the budget.  But we did get the floor, insulation, drains, heat, electricity in. so we will be working on the inside more over this season. Then next summer the sewer and outside work will be all that remains. If you come up this year you will have to stop by and take a look.  I think it’s going to be pretty nice when finished.

Yesterday we heard  from the MNDNR that we will be keeping a Walleye /person in the same 21-23 inch slot as last year.  And with the amount of Walleye in the lake and the size of them we are running short on forage according to their studies so they bite will be pretty good when we get out there.  Let’s all hope we don’t get bombarded with heavy snow that screw up the ice.  After seeing what the Minnesota farmers went thru this summer I am very wary of this season weather-wise.

As always..  Keep a Tight LIne!!
