Well its time to get things going again here at Lyback’s Ice Fishing.  Actually we have been at it for the last few weeks, getting houses prepped, painted and improvements made.

So far with this Covid stuff going on I’m not sure yet how we are going to deal with it totally but I have a plan for the rentals so far.  The office and how we operate that is still undecided at this time. At my marine business this past summer we kept customers out of the store area and away from mechanics. Did most of our business over the phone, set up a tent outside the entrance and did what we needed to do outside. It worked well, daily we fogged the building and work areas with Concrobium , ( a safe, non- toxic plant base mixture that kills the virus) and it seemed to work very well. This year, until something changes, we are going to be using it on all of our rentals every time they are cleaned up after it’s been rented. There will be a 24 hour lapse of rental times, so no more 7am-7pm “switches” at least for this year.  It will be up to the customers that rent to decide amongst themselves as to who they will be in the rental with.  that’s all we can do and that will be the way it will be.  This morning it was announced that Pfizer’s vaccine in tests has proved 90% effective and could be out sooner than later thanks to the Trump administration. (timing is everything…right?)

I did not get much farther in the progress of our new office/bathrooms/showers this summer. What money we had planned for finishing the downstairs got spent helping family.  I’m hoping during and after this winter I can get going on it again.  At 65 years old sometimes I feel like I’m running out of time, but somehow I’ll figure out a way. I have a few “retired” friends that have offered their help and I might take them up on it.   🙂

Some of the private house owners still have not been up and checked over their houses.  Keep in mind that they will not be going out if repairs are not made as needed.

Keep a Tight Line!
