Winter is still with us.  The cold temps are refreezing the lake to some extent.  We are forecasted to recieve 12-18 inches of snow in the next 48 hours.  Should be interesting…

Overnight, the main lake skimmed over.  The smooth areas you will see in the pictures is ice. It is not too often the lake is almost ice-free and then refreezes like it has.  maybe we can call another ice-out date…..lol!!    😉

There is still some ice in front of us and to the east, probably the last amount of any ice on Mille Lacs.  MNDNR called ice out on March 16th. However, you would have needed an icebreaker to drive out of Isle Bay to the NW towards Garrison for the first 4 miles….    😉
