December 16th,2019

Yesterday we had 12 groups show up to fish.  From what reports I heard is was a little slower bite than Saturday.  Fishermen that came back from Saturday did not find them at the same spots they were in then.  I seen a few keepers caught, but overall it was quieter.

Today I’m going on the ice to check more ice depths on what we had packed down three days ago and check out ice farther out to see if we can get out on it to pack more roads. By the looks the weather forecast we only have a few “cold” days left and then a warm-up for the weekend.  Definitely not ice making weather.  It will be nice for portable fishermen.

But we have reservations for rentals and our permanent customers I’m sure would like to get out there also.  Fortunately the majority of my permanent customers have been here a long time, they know what we do and how we do it. They understand the situation we are in. We just plain don’t have enough ice and currently I can’t even predict when we will.  Cindy and I really appreciate their patronage over the years as they are the people that get us started every fall. Without them, this place probably wouldn’t be here.

For now it will remain snowmobiles, ATV’s with tracks, and walking.  After I check ice today we might start letting  ATV’s without tracks on tomorrow.  I want to see if the double layers areas have froze sufficiently to allow it.  I’ll let you know.

Keep a Tight Line!
