Yesterday a few groups of anglers went out on Snowmobiles and ATV’s. Those that stopped at the office on their way off reported some decent Perch and  Walleye action.  Some nice sized Perch. Most walleye caught were small.  Those that didn’t stop in I’m presuming didn’t have much to report.  I more would stop and report even if it is slow. My number is on every map of roads they receive and even a text would help.  I like to let future customers know what to expect if they come our way.

Sound like we are finally getting our colder weather.  This last week we actually lost a little ice depth, at the most, maybe a half inch.  In areas where there was a lot of slush under the ice, the water below actually melted some of it so it is fishable compared to a week ago.

With the snow amounts on the ice it will take awhile to get to it and start the freezing process again. but it will happen.  The snow is drying out and getting lighter and will be easier to plow.  Some anglers just went out this morning with and ATV without chains and came back in saying the snow is so dried out  they couldn’t pull their portable thru it.  I’m going to check things out again today and maybe start some of the roads tomorrow. As long as we don’t get too much more snow this week we should get going to some extent after Christmas.  Fingers crossed…

A quick note for those of you looking at our web cam and see the same pic every day.  We switched internet providers so the camera IP address needs to be synched. (Something I’m not familiar with). They are sending out a tech this week and hope to have it up and running soon.

Be safe out there!
