December 21st, 2019

Yesterday we had 12 groups of fishermen out and most reported a good bite.  Best from 12-16 feet. There are alot of baitfish in the area it seems.  The basins area SW of Spider is a good area to try as we have always had early luck there. And I’m waiting for someone to get me pictures of the 40″ plus Northern that are there.  I will be hopefully publishing some fish pictures on the Lyback’s Facebook page after the weekend.

I was able to get the road established headed towards North Twin yesterday and will be working on more today. So accessibility is getting better all the time for “walkers” and ATV’s.  But you really want to have chains on your 4 wheeler.  There is spots you will want them when you go off-road.

The ice conditions are the same and will remain that way for awhile until it gets cold.  I’m not going to push it . I will continue to establish roads with the Jeep and Land Cruiser.  Once we get to a consistent 12″ of ice I will start getting some of the smaller houses out. A lot of the ice on this end of the lake has flooded slush ice on the top and really does not support weight very well. 12″ of ice might only  have 8″ of strong ice on the bottom and repetitive traffic on ice like that can become dangerous. Caution will be the rule here.

Merry Christmas!!
